It’s been a busy winter, and I have been quiet for sure. Shoots, deadlines, holidays, children/visitations/travel, and most time consuming: house hunting, buying and moving. But, alas, it’s over. The whirlwind has died down and here I am, in the quiet calm of the winter…enjoying it from my my new home. While I am enjoying the calm, I’m looking forward to life picking up speed again. I’m never happily still for long! This winter season I have a couple of fun promos lined up…I’m sure you are dying to find out what, aren’t you? ;o)

Here is a little taste of a fantastic day of riding! Once again, Sub-9 put on an outstanding event. The weather held out and was quite remarkable for a late November day! I was tempted to tuck away the camera and follow everyone else on the bike it was so nice! Tania with Sub-9 Productions has put on yet another outstanding event! The Brown County Breakdown is a fundraiser for the HMBA and it was EPIC, to say the least. A full weekend event with supported rides on Sunday ranging from 20 to 100 miles, there was something for everyone. Good beer, good music, good friends and some of the best mountain biking you’ll find in the midwest…all in one beautifully fall colored weekend! Love what you see? Two Pedals is offering a 16 page, magazine style souvenir book of the event. It will be available online very soon!

New Travels, New Trails & New Friends

It seems from my last few posts that I’ve ONLY been photographing bikes lately! While it’s so not true, I must say that it’s been GREAT to be out in the woods with my two favorite things in the world: a camera and bikes. A couple of weeks ago I had the great pleasure of making my first ever trip to Birmingham, Alabama to photograph another women’s mountain bike clinic. The clinic was put on by Kim Cross and the Magic City Cycle Chix (aka MC3) and it was SUCH a fun weekend! She brought in Mary Hearn and Marla Streb to instruct for the weekend. Now, for those of you who don’t know it…Marla Streb is one bad ass rider who also happened to be my (s)hero back in my childless years when I did nothing else with my day but ride. Add to the mix an AMAZING group of women, all coming together over their love of two wheels on dirt, and I’d say I was pretty much in heaven all weekend! I’d say that Kim’s first clinic was a complete success and I really look forward to seeing many of these women again in the future!

This past weekend I had the great pleasure of spending the weekend in the woods doing two of my favorite things: mountain biking and taking pictures! Tania and Sub-9 Productions put on yet another outstanding Midwest Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic this year and I’m so happy that I was included in the fun again. I’ve been mountain biking for 15 years and I feel like I’ve learned more about the sport in the past two years of being at the Women’s Clinic than I have in my entire history of riding. Whether you are brand new to the sport or you’ve been in the saddle all your life…there’s something to be gained by everyone at the Midwest Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic. Keep it on the radar for next year…this event sells out quickly!

Thanks Tania & Sub-9 for putting on a fantastic event, thanks to the coaches for your willingness to share your experience and knowledge and thanks to everyone who made this weekend so much fun!! Sub-9 Death March…let the season BEGIN!!

Saturday was the beginning of the season for Sub-9 Events and I must say what a way to start the season! This was the first year for the Death March and it was FIVE TEAMS away from selling out! With undeniably perfect weather for early March, amazing southern Indiana terrain for a fantastic course and a rockin’ support crew driving around with water and Tecate how could everyone NOT have a great time?! While I was MORE than thrilled to be out shooting all day, I must say that it KILLED me not to be on MY bike! Somebody had to take the pictures, right? ;o)
